When learning origami techniques, it is best to start with simple crafts. Today I will show you one of them, made from a square of paper. And at the end you will have a beautiful lotus flower. Use my instruction, how to make an origami lotus flower.
Origami lotus flower
Total Time: 15 minutes
Step 1: Get a square of paper
Prepare a square of colored paper. I chose pink to make a cute flower, but you can use any color you like.
Step 2: Make a rectangle from the square
Fold the square in half.
Step 3: Unfold and fold across
Then do the same fold again in the other direction. You should get a crosswise fold.
Step 4: Fold all the corners inside
Fold all the corners into the center.
Step 5: Fold the new corner that was created in the previous step
In the resulting square, fold one corner back to the center.
Step 6: Fold the other 3 corners of the square inward
You need to fold all 4 corners to the center.
Step 7: Flip the piece over
Flip the small square over to the other side.
Step 8: Fold 1 corner of the square again
Fold 1 corner to the center of the square.
Step 9: Fold the other three corners
Repeat the previous step with three corners. This is the shape of the future lotus blank as shown in the photo.
Step 10: Straighten the corners
Unfold the folds you just made in the previous step.
Step 11: Flip the piece over
Flip the square over to the other side.
Step 12: Unfold the corner incompletely
Unfold the inside corner to the outside so that there is a slight crease at the edge.
Step 13: Unfold the other three inner corners
Repeat the same fold with the other three corners.
Step 14: Flip the piece over
Flip the base of the flower again.
Step 15: Shaping the first petal of row
To create the first tier of petals, fold the corner of the small square at the top of the piece toward the center.
Step 16: Shaping the top four petals
Repeat the same fold with the other corners. You should have the top row of petals.
Step 17: Flip the piece over
For the next step, turn the piece over. Here, gently push the inner corners aside.
Step 18: Flip the piece over
Flip the craft over to the front again.
Step 19: Make the bottom petals
To form the bottom petals of the lotus, gently press through the folds with your fingers. The corners of the bottom petals should be facing up. You should get an origami lotus flower.

- a square of colored paper with a side of 21 cm (8.2677″).

When you learn to fold such a flower, you can make a beautiful table setting if you use paper or fabric napkins instead of paper.
